This course explored the foundations of distance education in Brazil, including its history, pedagogical models, communication practices, and technological infrastructures. Emphasis was placed on understanding digital environments as sociocultural spaces shaped by mediation, design, and power. Students engaged with virtual learning environments and analyzed how digital tools configure teaching practices, participation, and learning experiences. The course encouraged intentional and context-sensitive uses of technology for knowledge construction.
